The Luscious Care Manual

Your guide to maintaining beauty, quality, and longevity.

WHAT TO EXPECT

WHAT TO EXPECT

HAIR LONGEVITY

  • Virgin Hair: lasts 2–3 years with proper care

  • Raw Hair: lasts 5–10 years with proper care

The difference lies in purity and processing:

  • Raw Hair is cut directly from one single donor and is completely unprocessed. This means all cuticles run in the same direction, reducing tangling and increasing durability.

  • Virgin Hair, although still 100% human hair, is collected from 2–3 (or more) donors and lightly processed to create consistent textures. Because the cuticles may be less aligned, it has a slightly shorter lifespan than raw hair.

Both types are high-quality—but raw hair is considered the premium standard for longevity, realism, and versatility.

WASHING & CONDITIONING

  • Co-Wash the Hair
Before your first install, gently co-wash the bundles using a moisturizing conditioner. Let the hair air dry to reveal its natural pattern.

  • Detangle Carefully
Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle, starting from the ends and working your way up. Avoid tugging or rough brushing.

  • Professional Customization Only
If you plan to bleach, dye, or chemically process the hair, we strongly recommend having it done by a licensed professional. DIY color jobs can damage the hair and affect its longevity.

  • To maintain the quality and softness of your extensions, cleanse the hair regularly—ideally every 7 to 14 days. Use a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo or a gentle clarifying shampoo if there's product build-up. Harsh shampoos with sulfates can strip the hair of its natural moisture, leading to dryness, frizz, and breakage. A good wash routine keeps the hair fresh, soft, and manageable.

  • Follow up each wash with a deep conditioner to restore hydration, smoothness, and elasticity. Human hair, just like natural hair, needs moisture to stay healthy—especially after being exposed to shampoo, styling tools, or environmental factors.

  • Rinse out your conditioner using cold water. This helps to seal the hair cuticle, lock in moisture, and boost natural shine. Warm water opens the cuticle for cleansing, while cold water closes it to maintain smoothness.

  • Whenever possible, let the hair air dry naturally. Constant blow drying exposes the strands to high heat, which can lead to premature damage and shorten the hair’s lifespan. If you must use a blow dryer, always apply a heat protectant and use the cool or medium setting.

STYLING & STORAGE

  • Detangle on Damp Hair
Always detangle the hair when it’s damp, never dry. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots.

  • Be Gentle with Curls
For curly or kinky textures, finger-detangling is often the safest option. Use curl creams or defining products to maintain the pattern.

  • Avoid Alcohol-Based Products
Alcohol dries out hair. Check your styling products and avoid those that contain alcohol, especially in the first five ingredients.

  • When not in use, store your hair or wigs in a satin bag or box to protect them from dust and tangling.

  • Avoid tossing your bundles or wigs into drawers or bags without care — treat them like your own crown.
